Day ?

We spent the entire day at the beach in Cannes. The sunset was gorgeous. Some of our favorite times are spent sitting along the shore on park benches enjoying the water, the sun and the boats, yachts, and cruise liners. A Disney cruise liner came in today. We spoke to a family from the Noblesville that are taking a cruise of the Mediterranean. We decided that someday we need to take a family vacation (grandchildren and all) on a Disney Cruise – perhaps our next Lilly Sabbatical! Ha.

June 2 and 3

Saturday, June2:

It was a long flight to the French Riviera. But we arrived at our hotel in Cannes just fine. Cannes is a fabulous shopping city. Many of the most famous French designers have shops here. Jayna’s favorite place was a perfectly preserved medieval church of Romanesque architecture. Steve enjoyed being back in the Riviera. It has been 32 years since he was last here.

Sunday, June 3

We visited the country of Monaco/Monte Carlo today. What a fabulous country. Jayna thought that she could be princess of this country just fine. It was clean, opulent, picturesque and everywhere you looked there were Ferrari’s, Porsche’s, Bentleys, Rolls Royces. I think we took over 150 pictures today. The Grand Prix had just taken place the week before so everything was still set up for the grand race.
